2008 Summer camp information available at the beginning of January
On the eastern shores of Indian Arm, between the mountains and the seashore, you will find Camp Howdy. Surrounded by Belcarra Regional Park, Camp Howdy remains a secluded, peaceful setting for a memorable camp experience. For over 59 years, Camp Howdy has been dedicated to working with young people in summer camping programs, building positive identity and building self esteem. Through sensitive, competent leadership, we ensure that each camper has the opportunity to grow and learn as an individual within the cabin group setting.
For group booking inquiries November 2007 - May 2008, please contact Daniel Kim, Evangelical Layman's Church. For June 2008 rentals, please refer to the Outdoor Education Rental Package 2008 (pdf, 516k) or contact Greg Dent: greg.dent at vanymca.org or at 1 (604) 886-2025 ext 223.

We believe that the YMCA summer experience is an important building block in creating strong kids, strong families and strong communities. We believe that it is our responsibility to provide role models, resources and opportunities to ensure that children and youth are well cared for in a nurturing environment outside the home. We believe that positive development begins when we are young, and that YMCA summer programs have a role to play in fostering healthy and happy adults. Our residential camps are all BCCA-accredited, and all of our staff are certified in First Aid and CPR. During times near or in the water, campers are also supervised by certified lifeguards and swimming instructors.
