Core Services

Core CCRR services are free and available to parents, informal child care providers, licensed child care providers and facilities, students, community service providers and child care facility employees.

Core services include: newsletters distributed via email; access to workshops; access to networking; information and consultation on issues relating to child care/child development.

Full Membership

Full Membership is available to licensed family and group child care providers, and registered licence not required family child care providers at no charge.

Services available to full members include: enhanced child care referrals, toy and resource lending; workshops at special member rates; networking opportunities; information and consultation on issues relating to child care/child development; laminating and photocopying at member rates; newsletters distributed via email or Canada Post.

Criteria and Benefits for Member Child Care Providers

Both Licensed and License-Not-Required Child Care providers are encouraged (but not required) to register with their local CCRR program. All licensed child care providers in Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra area are welcom to join the YMCA Child Care Resource and Referral Service.

License-Not-Required providers must meet the following criteria:

·  The caregiver must be a responsible adult (at least 19 years old) with a current first aid certificate
·  The caregiver – and any other residents over the age of 12 must undergo a criminal record check
·  A health reference form completed by a physician addressing their physical and emotional suitability for working with children
·  2 character references
·  A home setting review with CCRR staff

All LNR and licensed family child care providers who are members of the YMCA Tri-Cities CCRR must have adequate liability insurance as well as participate in at least four hours of child care related training a year. Membership at the YMCA Tri-Cities CCRR is not open to Au Pairs or Nannies.
