Mission

We are a charitable association dedicated to the development of people in spirit, mind and body as well as the improvement of local, national and international communities.

YMCA New Ventures Network

Since 1986, the YMCA has helped thousands of people start successful businesses. In conjunction with Service Canada, the New Ventures Network (in downtown Vancouver) works with people who are ready to turn a great business idea into successful self-employment.

The program offers 48 weeks of income support for men and women 19 or older who are receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, or whose benefits have been exhausted within the past three years (five years for maternal/parental EI benefits). During the first 10 weeks, participants create an effective business plan, and in the following 38 weeks, launch their own business and receive expert advice on how to make it succeed.

Information sessions take place every Tuesday at 2:30 pm from May 20 through July 15, 2008.
