Since 1986, the YMCA has helped thousands of people start successful businesses. In conjunction with the Ministry of Social Development, the New Ventures Network (in downtown Vancouver) works with people who are ready to turn a great business idea into successful self-employment.
The program offers 48 weeks of income support for men and women 19 or older who are receiving Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, or whose benefits have been exhausted within the past three years (five years for maternal/parental EI benefits). During the first 10 weeks, participants create an effective business plan, and in the following 38 weeks, launch their own business and receive expert advice on how to make it succeed.
Thank you for your interest in our program. Please note that the application deadline for the upcoming session is now closed. Due to the current changes in the delivery of Self Employment programs we do not have any future programs scheduled at this time.
