I AM STRONG because I am confident, I am healthy, I am active, I am globally-minded, I am caring, I am happy, I am giving back!

The YMCA’s Annual Campaign is committed to ensuring that no one is left out of a YMCA opportunity because of financial need.

This year, more than ever, we see people in need all around us. In tough economic times, your dollars help provide more services to more people, enhance accessibility, improve programs and services that build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

With your help we are raising $720,000 in 2009. 100 per cent of these funds will be used to:
·   Ensure that a family stays active and healthy together with a YMCA annual membership
·  $1,200 gives a one year membership to a whole family
·   Offer access to child care to families during a time of illness, crisis or loss of employment
· $1,100 pays for a month of toddler care for a single parent trying to re-enter the workforce
·   Provide cardiac rehabilitation for a senior on a limited budget at YMCA Healthy Heart Program
·  $800 helps a person with heart disease get healthier with friends
·   Provide a youth an intercultural leadership program aimed at creating a sense of belonging, understanding and acceptance
·  $550 sponsors a youth to attend the Collectively Canadian Program where youth and families network
·   Give a child living in poverty a safe, fun, character building experience at YMCA Camp
·  $550 sends a child to a week-long YMCA Summer Camp
·   Ensure that low income school-aged children have access to literacy and homework assistance programs
·  $500 covers the cost of the supplies required to deliver programs that promote essential literacy skills
·   Provide an at-risk-youth with the chance to build leadership skills in a fun environment
·  $175 allows a youth to participate in a 10 month Leadership Development program
·   Give a person the chance to attend a YMCA program to get healthier in spirit, mind and body
·  $ Any amount helps us build strong kids, strong families and strong communities
