Helping youth grow up strong is why the YMCA exists. Only 7% of youth in Canada meet daily physical activity requirements, and the YMCA wants to help change that. That's why we offer Youth Sports Leagues–a variety of athletic programs that help youth in the Fraser Valley be active and have fun. Through various sports, youth get the chance to learn new skills and create new friendships, all while getting a healthy dose of physical activity! YMCA Youth Sports Leagues are based on eight fundamentals: participation, fun, fitness, skills, teamwork, fair play, family involvement and volunteerism.
From tip-off to the final whistle the YMCA/Steve Nash Basketball League is the place to get kids active, create new friendships and develop fundamental movement skills while developing a love of the game. Through a partnership with Basketball BC, the YMCA offers this grassroots initiative that helps kids build self-esteem and practice sportsmanship while engaging them in the sport of basketball. See you on the court!

The YMCA Soccer League is all about having fun, being active and developing soccer skills. The league engages youth in active sport and is based on fundamentals such as equality and sportsmanship. Through the game of soccer kids not only have the chance to be active, but they also learn to work as a team, develop confidence and make new friends. See you on the pitch!

Through partnerships with local elementary schools, the YMCA offers students a variety of games and activities during recess and lunch breaks. Games focus on relationship-building and teamwork, and for older students, emphasis is placed on leadership and postive role modelling.
